A special foster baby #fbf vid for you. I miss these boys so much and am so happy their adopted parents started an Instagram for them so we can keep seeing them grow. We love that they got adopted together to such a great family! Their account is @trey_plus_trenton if you'd like to continue following these 2 cuties! They have such a great story from when we trapped them at about 8 weeks of age due to Trey's leg having been literally ripped off in a golf cart accident where a worker (who no longer works there) didn't think his life meant enough to get him help because he was "just a stray" on the golf course. Luckily a concerned animal lover (another employee) saw him limping & called out for help. Thanks to him, we were able to come to their rescue with the help of @goodkarmapetrescue , @drsimonspetclinic and of course, many of you who donated towards his surgeries. These 2 boys did nothing but hiss and growl at me for days and then decided to give me a chance simply by me giving them their own room and space. I would go sit on the floor and ignore them until finally they realized I was respecting their fears and not forcing the bond. They literally went from feral to full mush, rolling onto their backs for belly rubs within minutes of the first trusting touch on THEIR terms. This still remains one of my favorite hands on saves! We stalked and trapped them (a half day mission), you guys helped us fund his many surgeries, and Good Karma found him the best new family ever! TEAMWORK! To follow their journey from the start, scroll back to June 28th 2016 to the first picture of Trey in an incubator with a bandage on his body. It will warm your heart for sure! 💞 #brothers #brotherlove #adoptdontshop #Repost @trey_plus_trenton with @repostapp ・・・ Trey and Trenton 😻 the boys still love cuddling with each other when they're not running through the house playing! Both boys are healthy and growing lots.
It’s #nationalsiblingday so this post is dedicated to my closest sibling, my adopted brother Roo @roothekangaroocat. No matter where you look, we’re most likely together. All of us are close but Roo and I have an especially close bond. I help groom the places he can’t reach (like his head) due to his crooked paws. He’s my BFF! 💙 Give a shout out to your siblings! 😽😃 Have a great day everyone! XOXO
Which side do you like best, Orange with blue eye w/ all white whiskers... or black with green eye w/ all black whiskers (except 1 lone white one)? 🖤💚 or 🧡💙
By a show of 🐾, who here knew my line goes from the top of my head straight through to the bottom of my neck?
Update from @gkpetrescue about Bunny #Repost @gkpetrescue ・・・ Update on Bunny! Bunny went to see Dr. Holtsinger today allll the way in Stuart to get a second opinion and consult with one of the most renown orthopedic surgeons in South Florida and our fave! :) We are glad we waited on a second opinion because Dr. Holtsinger does NOT recommend surgery for Bunny's condition! Bunny’s issues are a congenital malformation. She has shortening of the right forelimb due to the issue affecting her growth plate very early on. Dr. H recommends no surgical intervention because fusing the joint would cause issues with her elbows and shoulders later in life. She appears to have no pain and full range of motion for the most part in her forelimbs so arthrodesis would not necessarily improve her quality of life. Unrelated to her front leg deformity, Dr. H noticed that Bunny has and old break and BULLET FRAGMENTS in her right hind leg!!! The break has fully healed and has minimal effect on her mobility and actually healed pretty well considering, so removal of the fragments is not recommended. WOW! What poor Bunny must have been through in her short 1.5 years. :( We initially received a $2,900 estimate for Bunny's surgery to repair both legs and we raised about $1,500 in donations for her surgery. We like to be as transparent as possible because we don't want anyone to question where their donations are going. If you donated for Bunny's surgery and would like a refund of your donation, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org (Subject: Bunny's Donation) and we will gladly return it. Otherwise, we will apply the donations to what we have spent so far on her medical care, x-rays and two orthopedic consults. Then the difference will be applied to one of our pup's named Tilly who just had her second surgery yesterday to remove a string of mammary tumors and infected tissue that were caused due to not being spayed (we will spare you the graphic photos). Thanks so much to everyone who has donated or sent well wishes for Bunny!
As promised from a post earlier today....My real life birth mama & litter mate sister #tbt 2009💞 My human mama had never seen this pic or my sister's forward facing pic (last post which shows her split face) before 2014 when someone named Tanja, whose partner worked on the dairy farm I was born on sent it to her. She knew I had a lilac torti sibling but never saw a full pic. She also didn't know what mama looked like, only my siblings. For more details see the post just before this one of my sister. She has a split face just like mine. Isn't my sister cute and my mama beautiful?😺😺 Special thank you to Tanja for reaching out and sending us these great pics! XOXO #kitten #kittens #lilactortie #dilutetortie #tortoiseshell
🙀 My real life litter mate sister for this #tbt 2009💞 Mama had never seen this pic before 2014 when someone sent it to her. She knew I had a lilac torti sibling but never saw a full pic. When she adopted me from this dairy farm her friend picked me up, took me to the vet for a health check, and my humans made arrangements to fly up from FL to get me. Mama had to work so my human Dad made the trip and met mama's friend at the airport with me. We got on a plane an hour later to go to FL. So my humans have never been to the dairy farm or even Statesville, NC. Many people ask what happened to the rest of the litter. The answer is they don't know. My humans weren't involved in rescue back then so just like most who look to adopt a pet, they chose one (me), not the whole litter BUT....mama says if she had made the trip and gone to the farm instead of her friend driving me to the airport, she swears she would've figured out a way to take my whole family back! My humans didn't become involved in rescue til 2 years later so at the time, this was just a matter of adopting a pet (me), not a rescue mission like she does today. If she had it all to do over again, she would've figured out how to get time off work and actually go to the farm to smuggle my whole family back but that's because she has a rescuer mentality now. Back then they chose me because half of me looked like Ginger and half of me looked like Mojo and I looked like I could be their offspring (Mojo passed in 2014 from Cardiomyopathy, he was a gorgeous tuxedo). 😿 Another question commonly asked is what my parents looked like. My birth mama was a dark torti and nobody knows for sure about my birth dad. Most think he must have been an orange tabby. If you want to see a pic of my birth mama with my sis put MORE PICS in the comments and I'll post more. 😺😺 #kitten #kittens #lilactortie #dilutetortie #tortoiseshell #adoptdontshop #omg #aww
