One from the archives of the Royal Enfield Unroad Recce ride. Such beautiful weather and intense clouds we encountered. We stopped by one such scenic spots on the Poladpur ghat for some chai-sutta. That’s when it occurred, the beauty of small capacity adventure motorcycles is that they can take you to beautiful places you never knew were just around the corner. Such fun. Much fun. • • • Shot on the iPhone. • • •

Going back almost a decade ago, this beast conquered all hearts and minds. And it still manages to hold its own against today’s top runners. Suzuki certainly changed the hyperbike game with this monster - the Hayabusa. One could not just park and walk away from it without giving a second look. And nothings changed after all these years. Let’s see what magic Suzuki brews with the next generation Hayabusa - the almighty. • • • 📸 @kunalkhadse • • •

*ALERT* LONG POST! Throwback to Aatank’s break-in ride to Goa. It has its own story and some learning. Bike came in and the next day we both were out on the break-in ride to Goa. On the way, about 70-odd kilometres before Kolhapur, I noticed leaving a long oil trail behind on the road. Stopped and inspected the bike. The O-ring sitting behind the front sprocket had busted and oil was pouring out from there. Patiently rode to KTM Kolhapur. The technicians there checked with the company and figured the O-ring needed a replacement. More importantly the metal washer sitting behind the front sprocket was too sharp and that was shearing through the O-ring resulting in the oil leak. It needed to be ground to smooth(en) its edges out in order to prevent it from damaging the O-ring again. It was a new bike. So parts were still not out. Mine was the 4th unit delivered in the country. So the metal washer could not be replaced directly as it wasn’t still available with the dealer. We ground the metal washer and replaced the O-ring that was damaged. Filled up new oil and I continued towards Goa. And I paid for all the expenses too. The ride was far more important than sitting there and arguing about who foots the bill. Motorcycles are machines. Engineered by humans. Humans, who come with terrible flaws, as history and current affairs have taught us. What makes us think that products engineered by such a faulty race will come devoid of any flaws? Yes, I did bring the issue to the company’s notice and they were diligent in fixing it on the very next batch of production. Everyone deserves a second chance. Peace. • • • 📸 @varadmore • • •

These weren’t clutch wheelies but power wheelies - basically popping the front wheel by opening the gas aggressively. I don’t usually recommend clutchless wheelies as they tend to go out of control easily, especially if one is still learning to Wheelie. Clutch wheelies work best to get the hang of Wheelie-ing a motorcycle. But the new KTM 390 Duke is quite manageable and easy to pop the front wheel just on the gas. Although it hits the rev-limiter way too soon in first Gear and one has to shift into second gear to be able to carry the Wheelie for a distance. • • • 📷 @rohitmane93 / Shot for @fastbikesindia Magazine • • •

Nothing’s easier to pop wheelies in this class other than this Triple-motored Street Triple RS from Triumph. Second gear, doing about 70km/h and dumping the clutch to get the front wheel leave holy Mother Earth. There is no better way to have fun. Atleast with the clothes on. • • • • • • 📷 @rohitmane93 / Shot for @fastbikesindia Magazine • • • • • • @vimalsumbly @indiatriumph @officialtriumph @triumphnation @triumph_uk @triumph @fastbikesmag @arjunchatterjee

Howzzat for our favourite Wheelie Wednesday whooper? While it wasn’t as easy as the KTMs to pop the TVS Apache RR310 - but once up on one, the sweet spread of gearing meant it went quite a distance on one wheel and the sweet chassis dynamics meant one could keep it upright without any sign of imbalance. What a sweet, sweet handler, this RR310! Of course, more horsepower. That is always needed.
