I am just on my way to the airport about to catch a flight to the other side of the World - New Zealand! I will be spending 10 weeks traveling around the country and trying to tick off as many hikes as I can and my knees will allow me! I watched a mama grizzly bear and her cub playing in one of the Birdwood lakes far below. My last post of 2017 and my favorite memory! Taken at the Opabin prospect above Lake O’Hara. Few seconds later Jack got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Although we had our fair share of difficult moments I am really glad we made it through and are now going stronger then ever. I have travelled solo for a while and as much fun as it was I am glad I have someone to share these awesome moments and passion with. 2017 was an amazing year for me. I managed to turn my blog into my job and made myself independent. I have awesome upcoming travel plans next year and I am also looking forward to slowing down a bit and finding a place that we can call our home! I hope you all had an awesome year! Middle Joffre Lake near Whistler in BC captured on my road trip from Vancouver to Calgary. I've heard that this spot gets pretty busy in the summer. I always tell people who see for solitude on trails to leave early in the morning to beat the crowds. Getting up early doesn't seem appealing to anyone, including myself, but having such beautiful spot all to myself is worth it. Resting on top of the rocks after a challenging approach to the top of Indian Ridge in Jasper NP. Thanks to the spectacular views on the top this hike quickly made it to the top of my favorite day hikes in the Canadian Rockies. I am finally breaking the long radio silence! I had to check when I posted here last time and it was on the day I left Canada over a month ago! Today it is my birthday and I felt the urge to contemplate about how freaking awesome the last few years of my life it has been. I have left my home 12 years ago! Today I am 31 and looking back I wouldn't change a thing. I feel so happy to be able to say this. So much has happened during that time that I feel like I've been around for a lot longer. I was able to fulfill my passion of travel and photography and then successfully turn it into my my job. It's been a long learning experience and I feel that learning part will never end but somehow I find this part to be the most exciting! Also grateful to have my fiancé in my life who keeps up with my craziness every day and pushes me forward when I get too lazy! Haha love you Jack! Thank you all for coming along on my journey!
