I don’t know who needs to see this but, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!⁣ -⁣⁣⁣ So many times I see people using the stairmaster like the example on the left. And don’t give me that excuse of - “I’m having a rest so I’m using the handles to take some weight off”. Oh a rest... for 20 minutes!!⁣ This is always wrong and there is never an actual reason for people to do it, you’re making it easier and if that’s what you’re doing then you probably shouldn’t have used the high setting in the first place. You’re defeating the object of increasing the intensity.⁣ -⁣⁣⁣ This applies to the treadmill also, the minute you start hanging onto/off cardio equipment is the exact time you need to reduce your speed. ⁣ -⁣ Think about it - you’re hanging on because it got to difficult to continue at that pace with 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 and 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 form. Just lower the speed and improve your form and posture. ⁣ -⁣ • It turns walking into ‘make-believe walking’ and running into ‘fake-running’⁣⁣⁣ • It ruins posture⁣⁣⁣ • It reduces calorie burn⁣⁣⁣ • It reduces the effects of an incline⁣⁣⁣ • It doesn’t help you improve balance⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣ When you press your palms down against the side rails/arms on a stairmaster you lift your and reduce weight, giving your an easier ride!⁣⁣⁣ ⁣-⁣ If you really must rest and don’t want to reduce your speed then merely place your hands onto the handles to measure your heart rate (as seen in the right side example) Keep upright and maintain good posture. ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Got a bad back?⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ The erector spinae: This structure keeps you upright while walking or jogging in daily life and stabilises the spine. Holding on to the stairmaster cheats the lower back out of doing work, weakening the all-important core muscles.⁣⁣⁣ -⁣⁣⁣ In future if you need a break then do yourself and your a favour by just reducing the resistance.⁣

It’s not everyday you get to meet your idols. At bodypower with @vqfit Jo Lindner. Had such an incredible day meeting people and celebrating my beautiful girlfriends birthday! ⁣ ⁣ ⁣⁣

⚠️ 𝗪 𝐀 𝐑 𝐍 𝐈 𝐍 𝐆 ⚠️ ⁣ ⁣ Not for the sensitive or those that take offence easily. ⁣ -⁣ This particular post isn’t aimed at individuals ... however, if it strikes a chord with you then take note. ⁣ -⁣ You see it every single day. ⁣ -⁣ The motivational quotes go up and boom! someone’s on their journey! They’re all fired up and ready to get fit. They’ve posted their workouts. They’ve uploaded their “heathy meal” hashtagged everything fitness related..... and 2 weeks later the posts have diminished, and the activity has gone. ⁣ -⁣ The posting on social media was dead easy, telling everyone your doing this, going to that gym, attending that class. That stuff was easy and now that burst of motivation has run dry, you don’t know what to do. ⁣ -⁣ Motivation is often the result of action, not the cause of it. Getting started, even in small ways, is a form of active inspiration that produces momentum. ⁣ -⁣ Active inspiration can be a far more powerful motivator. ⁣ -⁣ There is this misconception that you will passively consume a motivation video, or inspirational book or story and get 🔥 up and take action.⁣ -⁣ Try this: ⁣ ✅ move in secret (start without telling anyone) this way if you fail, you are more likely to start again. You don’t need to announce it to the world. We all fail, even the best of us - it’s ok to fail. ⁣ ✅ don’t try and wake up at 5am tomorrow for that run. Wake up at 6/7 and go for a walk. You will still feel like you’ve accomplished something and won’t feel trapped under the weight of the difficult task you’ve set yourself. ⁣ ✅ Don’t promise people you’re going to turn and train with them, go for a run with or start turning up to classes when you haven’t fully established the habits and the discipline that you require to be committed - you will only let them down. ⁣ ✅ at least try and stick something out before you give up on it. Don’t just jump from one thing to another. Give it a go. Fail at it. Fail at it again but make sure you’re giving it some effort. I knew someone who would start something new all the time. He never gave anything, any real effort. As soon as things get hard. He would about it then give up and try something else.
