We can’t build a future by crushing the dreams and hopes of our young people. That's why Rep. James Clyburn and I introduced a bill to cancel up to $50,000 of your student loan debt, so that you can achieve your goals and dreams. #CancelMyDebt
For far too long the American Dream has been out of reach for Black business owners. I've got a plan to fix that, starting with a $7 billion dollar fund to help them start and grow their own small businesses.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads who are fighting for their children’s futures—and who set the example every day of what it means to care for the people you love. My daddy was a cool guy. He taught me to dream big and fight hard, and I wish I could call him today.
My first Democratic presidential primary debate is on Wednesday, June 26 on @nbcnews—and I can’t wait to discuss my plans for big, structural change. Will you chip in $3 now to keep up the momentum before June 26? Link in bio.
I’d love to grab a drink and chat with you. Donate through the link in bio to be automatically entered—and I hope I’ll see you soon! ewar.ren/grabadrink-ig
The racial wealth gap tilts the playing field against entrepreneurs of color, holding back our economy. The government helped create that wealth gap, and the government has an obligation to address it. I have a new plan to tackle it head on: On average, Black, Latinx, Native American, and other minority households have significantly less wealth than white households. That means less capital to put into their own businesses, and less collateral to get outside credit. That disparity in startup capital is helping create a small business gap that costs us millions of jobs and billions in economic growth, and it's another example of how the racial wealth gap in America Black, Latinx, Native American, and other minority families and communities. As president, I will launch a $7 billion Small Business Equity Fund to provide grants to entrepreneurs—not loans or loan guarantees. That $7 billion ensures that if Black, Latinx, and Native American entrepreneurs start businesses at the same rate as white entrepreneurs, we could fully close the startup capital gap for the next ten years—supporting over 100,000 new businesses and 1.1 million new jobs. The cost is covered by my Ultra-Millionaire Tax—a 2¢ tax on every $1 of wealth above $50 million. And it will move us closer to an America where everyone has a fair shot to succeed. Read more about my Small Business Equity Fund and the other steps I’m proposing to help level the playing field for entrepreneurs of color at the link in the bio.
Health care is a basic human right—and we fight for basic human rights. When I lead the Democratic Party, we will be a party that says: We’re the wealthiest nation in the history of the world, so yes, we can afford #MedicareForAll.
When 49 people were murdered at Pulse three years ago, it was an attack on our LGBTQ+ and Latinx communities. Today I’m remembering the victims and their loved ones, and I promise to #HonorThemWithAction by continuing to fight for #GunReformNow.
Right now, America’s foreign policies work great for the rich and powerful but fail everyone else. We need to recognize that policies that undermine working families in this country also erode America’s strength in the world. As president, I’ll change that.
