. THE RIPPLE EFFECT 🙃😁 . Two months ago I sat on a local plane with a lovely woman en route to Narrabri for some contract work. We got chatting.... and we made friends. . Today, I saw her for the first time since. The first thing I thought was: WOWSERS - This gal looks absolutely vibrant!! . We ended up having lunch together, and Tanya shared with me that after we met she read the Women’s Weekly article about the health benefits of being -free, thought about our conversations, and decided to give it a just as her own personal challenge. . Eight weeks later it turns out Tanya also stopped smoking, lost five kilos, and saved herself over $3,000 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 . And from an overall health perspective she said she feels brilliant. It’s obvious, because her skin and eyes are absolutely positively glowing. . It was honestly just so awesome to see this. We both got a bit emotional over our coffee and couldn’t believe how powerful the ripple effect of a conversation can honestly be. . That got me thinking about the incredible impact we family over at Sober in the Country are starting to have. . So to those of you who fully understand what we “do” - which is to simply encourage honest yarns and consider our own relationship with and maybe lend a hand to those who had to cut back or quit - THANK YOU! . And thank you, Tanya, for giving me that amazing lift today. I feel so lucky to be part of your story 💚 . Shan x . @hello_sunday_morning @womensweeklymag @womenshealthaus @ruralandremotementalhealth

The smallest things make the biggest difference in life for me. Which, today, was a simple lunch break & walk in the sun with my beautiful sister-in-law, nephew and Fleabag, of course. . Staying ultra-connected when you’re not a Mum, not a drinker, and you’re self-employed working from home is extremely challenging and isolating most of the time. . So when people bring me into their daily routine or invite me to watch their kids play soccer or whatever - it’s a life line for me. . To beat addiction one of the key components is connection. So if you have your own family, or access to recovery support meetings, and face-to-face interaction as part of your daily grind then you are more richly blessed than you know. So hook in and wrap your arms around ALL the support and love you can get. And be sure to give it back in any way you can. . That was life changing advise for me, and I hope it helps you too. . Love, A Happy Aunty xxx . 💝💝
