Last event of the Michael LaViola Strongman Challenge was the sandbag carry. We had to carry a 210 lb sandbag as far as we could in 2 minutes. I set a pr going 118 yards! The bag sinks down on your stomach and breathing is it's own challenge by the end. 1st up is the last straight away with my all out dive to get that extra couple yards! Part 1 and 2 follow. #sandbagworkout

Sand Bag Saturday - Look good, feel good. - The upper back needs to get love regardless of how you train. - Here is a simple and super effective superset to improve strength, look, and function of your upper back. - The one arm row let’s you put more mental energy into the target muscles, getting more output and strength. - The Ice Chest Carry (as far as I know, I came up with that!) requires you to pull your shoulder blades and arms BACK, and therefore putting your upper back muscles into a fully contracted position. SandLog Pull/Push-up ————————————- One move with lots of work! ⭐️Using 20lb SandLog. ————————————- Set up in Plank. Pull sandlog from left to right, (see vid.) Core/glutes braced Add Pushup or stay in Plank. Repeat Pull in other direction. ————————————- AMRAP! /as good form permits! The push ups add to the overall challenge. Modifications: No p-up or bent knees on ground. ————————————- You’re building core strength by stabilizing under time duration.
