Probably to be a true post, but... to that time (almost 2 weeks ago) that I shot 5 guns on a stage at @hd3gun . Shooting trooper I was allowed to substitute a PCC for pistol, but carry my pistol in the event of a malfunction. With 1 round yet required to finish the pistol portion (on 100 yd B/C zone steel target) my PCC went down. At the end, because itโ€™s High Desert 3-Gun, I got to shoot my bonus rifle at a 670โ€™ish yard target, the goal being 5 hits. Took me 6 shots, my data was just a little off. #rainiermunitions ๐ŸŽฅ @nbk_range

This is my obligatory screw-up post: Clip 1 is my fist stage of @hd3gun, starts with where everything went south. I had just been informed my stage plan was a no-go per stage description, but it was my turn so I had to make it work. Then the 900 yd target in high wind... I was holding 3 mils with the 6.5 Creedmoor and still getting told โ€œright,โ€ couldnโ€™t see my impacts, so I finally made a bold correction and it was too much. My spidey sense was telling me I wasted too much time already so I bailed. At this point I was pretty sure a win was out of reach, long range bonus targets are mandatory. Clip 2: A couple bays over, shooting the same direction (i.e. parallel). Watch what happens to the splash from the impact! If you canโ€™t see the 3rd target in this clip donโ€™t feel bad, that was part of my problem ๐Ÿ˜‚ #rainiermunitions

When youโ€™re at a 3-gun competition, sometimes the steel just needs a little extra push to go over. Iโ€™ll happily oblige. #rainiermunitions

Pulled out a win in Trooper Division (out of 22) this weekend at High Desert 3 Gun Championship, and a fifth overall (out of 129). It was a crazy weekend of hauling all my dayโ€™s gear everywhere with me, and getting to shoot stages a bit different from other divisions, as a little reward for our stupidity.... I mean fortitude. So much fun, but Iโ€™m ready to get back to grabbing gear from my truck or a cart. #rainiermunitions

High Desert Day 2: Put together a good stage at the end of the day, despite being a bit gassed from shooting trooper and this stage being a hike! (Trooper means I carry everything I need for the day, no carts or vehicle) I got a little squirrelly on one of the early papers; if Iโ€™d got it in 2 shots like I shouldโ€™ve and remembered to charge my PCC Iโ€™d be sitting on an overall stage win right now. Still, sitting in 2nd for the stage behind my teammate @tim.ramberg with ~70% of the 150โ€™ish shooters having shot feels pretty solid. Edit: I should probably explain that the backpack in this video is not part of shooting Trooper division, Eberlestock sponsored the stage and everybody had their rifle in one of their packs for the start. Nice packs, too... #rainiermunitions ๐ŸŽฅ @nbk_range

This makes me smile so much. My friend Chris came out and watched all of day 2 today, and after our last stage I asked the ROโ€™s if it would be OK if I stayed and let him shoot the stage with my gear. Not only did they say yes, they stayed and ran him as if he were a competitor, timer and everything!! I wish I had it all recorded, he actually did really well, but the first half I was walking him through loading the shotgun and making sure he had muzzle awareness. Hearing his giggles is so awesome. Oh, and Iโ€™m not gonna say my @rainierarms / @vortexoptics rifle shoots itself, but come on!! Check out those hits! #rainiermunitions

OK, another High Desert 3-Gun Day 1 Post... Iโ€™m proud of this for a couple reasons: This rifle had never been shot beyond 200 yards, I literally got velocity and made Strelok data last night. The first target is 700 yards in high wind, and I timed the hit indicator dang near perfect on the last 4 shots (too quick it wonโ€™t indicate follow-up). That spinner was 350 or 385, depending on who you ask, with a tail/cross-wind. Weird thing I did was I shot high-low-high even when I missed, because I started adjusting as soon as I broke the shot. Weird but it went OK. #rainiermunitions ๐ŸŽฅ @nbk_range
