I'll be honest, I was on the fence about sharing this one. I didn't have a polarizer to fit my wide angle lens, so the reflection kind of drives me nuts. It took an interesting setup to get this perspective, however. Just ask @brian2774 what he thinks of my use of a log, a couple carabiners and some rope 🤪. . . . #ourwild

✨Humpback Whales are majestic mammals that symbolize power, strength, and protection while being spiritual and graceful✨ I had my Nikon D5600 a week before my mom and I left for Maui (Feb, 2017) so I could begin capturing my own shots. While there, we booked a whale watching tour through @redlinerafting 1 hour before it left the docks. As I was waiting on the dock, I googled how to take pictures of whales 🤦🏼‍♀️ haha. I made sure I had a fast shutter speed...but I NEVER imagined I would get a shot like this. Now, every time when I look at this picture, I am instantly reminded of how lucky I was to get this photograph and how wonderful this experience was to share with my mom. If you ever have an opportunity to go on a whale watching tour...don’t hesitate to do it!!! The money is worth it. You need to see these mammals up close and personal to truly understand how magnificent they are. FYI - don’t forget a polarizing lens filter on those sunny days and maybe pack some Dramamine. 🐋☀🗺🏝🚣🏻‍♂️✈🕶📸🌎 • • • • #ourwild @mauihi @roamtheplanet @natgeo @natgeotravel @natgeoadventure via @myguyinwaikiki

Happy Earth Day everyone! 48 years ago, the first Earth Day was celebrated on 22 April 1970. Today, more than 1 billion people around the world participate in Earth Day activities. I love our beautiful planet but it’s not going to stay this way if I don’t do anything to help keep it clean. I think some of the most powerful ways to help are to avoid the use of plastic where we can, educate ourselves on sustainable packaging and what biodegradable and compostable really means, and support those who are truly trying to change this world for the better. I’m sharing what I’ll personally be doing on my story! - This photo was taken at Lake O’Hara, one of my top 3 most beautiful places I have visited so far. . . . . . . . @natgeo @natgeoyourshot #ourwild
