We often fail to see the beauty in the simplest things in life: a smile, a full moon, a sky full of stars, a simple act of kindness. . .(or a sea star!). โœจ๐Ÿฆ‹ These are the things that make life beautiful because they will always be there as a reality or a living memory. These simple things do not have a price attached to them, unlike the things we strive for nowadays that we all think will make us happy. When we fail to appreciate simplicity, we fail to see and appreciate the most beautiful and important things in our lives.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‹ - Najwa Zebain, Mind Platter.

@adidas and , an organization dedicated to reducing plastic waste in oceans, have collaborated to create a 3D-printed shoe made out of recycled ocean plastic. The shoe is just a prototype, but the goal is to demonstrate how the industry can "rethink design and help stop ocean plastic pollution," according to Adidas. The prototype has an "upper" made of ocean plastic and a 3D-printed midsole of recycled polyester and gillnets, a type of fishing net. We all need to think of ways we can drive sustainability in all areas of our lives. . . . #oceanadvocate

Some facts on plastic pollution: โ€ข Approximately 80% of marine debris originates from land. โ€ข Canadians use 2.86 billion plastic bags annually. Thatโ€™s enough to reach the moon and back.๐ŸŒ• โ€ข 1 million plastic bottles are purchased around the world every 60 seconds ๐Ÿ’ต. โ€ข In Canada, 90% of plastic is NOT recycled. ๐Ÿ˜žโ™ป๏ธ. โ€ข Plastics remains on Earth forever...taking up to 1,000 years to break down into micro-plastics which pollute land, waterways and ourselves.. ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป What does this mean!? Link in bio for full post. . . โ€œThe plastic-free movement may be trendy, but it is not a trend.โ€
