Last week I had the opportunity to speak with a group of over 150 grassroots activists, partners, donors and celebrity ambassadors who had traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with their members of Congress and advocate for continued support for malaria prevention and elimination programs. Their passion was electric, illustrating their resolve to see this horrible disease eradicated for good. I believe that with champions like these, we will be the generation to #endmalaria. #nbnsummit #malaria #malariaelimination @nothingbutnetsofficial

God has always surprised me in this long term personal and community journey seeking to understand and respond to the needs and issues present in our global community in redemptive, restorative, sustainable, and empowering ways. Over a decade ago I read @reillyroad article in @sportsillustrated about the power of bed nets while we were seeking to help respond to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. A brilliant piece by one of my favorite writers of all time captured me. And to have a chance to have lunch @nothingbutnetsofficial #nbnsummit with him this week and some amazing @cornerstoneu students talking about our shared passion to really #endmalaria was beyond my wildest dreams. His enthusiasm for our very grassroots @nightofnets campaign inspired us. And I was reminded again of the power and community of sport we must harness. And the joy God brings into our lives when we follow His callings to partner with Him in Kingdom work. And yep, Rick Reilly said “We gotta do the C for Cornerstone, right?” #nightofnets @unfoundation

It was such an amazing experience getting to spend the past few days in D.C. for the #nbnsummit! I had the opportunity to meet with Congressman @repdavidkustoff to speak with him about continued funding for important global health initiatives! He and his staff were nothing short of AMAZING! I was also standing alongside some other incredible people throughout the day... actress @alexandradaddario, Elizabeth Taylor’s grandson who was representing the @elizabethtayloraidsfoundation, and sportswriter @reillyroad were all also in attendance at the #nbnsummit and advocacy day on the Hill! Such a fun day and awesome cause! 😊
