I’m trying to enforce a healthier lifestyle for myself, my boyfriend and for those kids I truly want some day. This means that I try and pay attention to the signals my body sends me - and those signals/impulses that are triggered by my old patterns of and . . To be approved for I need to lose weight and I need to be below a certain age (preferably 35). However, whilst I know I’m forced to do something NOW if I ever want children and if I want to avoid some of the more serious consequences of (like ovarian cancer and diabetes), I refuse to compromise with my wellbeing and my overall physical health. . I refuse to go on a diet. . So, as for right now, I’m listening and playing close attention - and that’s hard enough when you’ve spent most of your life NOT paying attention to shit but and . I ask myself those questions that I haven’t ever asked before. . Why do I crave chocolate? Why do I want to eat McDonald’s? When does my body start sending me signals that I’m tired/sad/stressed/happy/whatever? Why can’t I seem to articulate my feelings? And why is it that I find it that much easier to vent through food? . I’m not working on answering these questions alone. I work with my therapist and I’ve talked to a biopath about these issues. . Really, it’s all about me getting to know myself and the language of my own body. To begin with, I didn’t even notice it when my body told me I had to go pee and for the time being, I haven’t been sick for almost a year and a half - and I truly don’t believe these are good signs, I have to say... . This is a f**king difficult process, because meanwhile getting to know myself and my body I have to be 100 % alert of diet culture not sneaking up on me and showing its ugly face.
