Thanks to all who joined my 25 minute online class tonight. We're in Boston and it's snowing a lot, so I canceled classes at the studio but I told my students I'd be broadcasting a mini class on Insta and Facebook. Glad that many joined me and we danced despite of the snow day! The class is only available in my story for 24 hours but it's on my Facebook and I might post part of it eventually on my YouTube channel. If you danced with me leave me a comment with an emoji please! Tell me if you enjoyed dancing with me.
This is a famous quote by the famous dancer, choreographer and anthropologist La Meri. I've used this quote for years in my webpage to introduce my teaching philosophy. Do you agree? Type YES below if you agree. And if you think of someone else who could use this as inspiration right now, tag them in a comment too. Photo was taken at my latest intermediate class, last Monday. For class details: check link in bio.
With my beautiful students last Tuesday, finishing our class with "strike a pose" time. I always so happy to share this time at the studio, based on my personal experience of many years, I cannot say enough of the benefits of dancing (and belly dancing in particular) to completely change your mental focus and move your body, stepping aside from daily problems and duties as you enjoy your own body, the music, and at a certain extent the company of other. Many have developed connections, friendships and even projects from just chatting before and after classes. Some students have come for long enough that they feel like part of my dance fily. For details about the classes, check the link in bio.
So thankful for these ladies who join me weekly to take my intermediate belly dance lesson, on Monday evenings. Happy that this coming Monday and Tuesday the weather is going to be so much milder, so temperatures will be almost 50F (around 10C) instead of the crude below freezing weather we've been enduring for the past couple of weeks. Anybody else wants to join us? We are in Cambridge MA, link in bio
Fun posing with my students after class last Monday... And I look forward to seeing them again next Monday again! We have Level 1 classes every Monday and Tuesday evening in Cambridge MA. No previous experience needed. You could get a class card to start anytime, or register to join us in March by purchasing a March-April package (link in bio).
Working on Oum Kalthoum material with my advanced class students yesterday, including choreographic sequences but also general information, rhythm analysis, and emotional aspects. Thankful for those who could make it despite the cold and still less than ideal roads. Advanced classes are every Tuesday at 8:45 pm, in Cambridge MA. For advanced students and up to professionals, please check the link in bio for additional information on how to join us.
Thanks to the students who showed up despite the cold yesterday, and I totally understand some still had trouble getting on the road after the extreme polar conditions of the previous day... Here are some of the students who showed up for Tuesday Level 1 class. Hoping to see everybody next week, Monday and Tuesday, for more classes. Still thinking of joining the classes? Yes, you can. You can start at any time, and it's still early enough that you could benefit from a membership, otherwise there are 5 class cards available that you can start at any time. Drop ins are also welcome provided there is still space. Capacity is limited. Link to register in bio.
