Our featured product today is our Fleur de Sel! 🇫🇷 Fleur de Sel ("flower of salt" in French) is a salt that forms as a thin, delicate crust on the surface of seawater as it evaporates. Fleur de sel has been collected since ancient times and is now used as a finishing salt to flavor and garnish food. The name comes from the flower-like patterns of crystals in the salt crust. _____ Some uses for Fleur de Sel are: * Flexible (and improvement) for table salt * Hand-dried raspberries or strawberries (dry fruit will ensure the salt flakes retain a crunch) * Thinly sliced cucumber with a drizzle of olive oil * Roasted garlic (bake whole garlic in tin foil, drizzle with olive oil and Fleur de Sel- serve with baked bread and brie) * Pasta simply tossed in butter and a bit of red wine vinegar * Homemade caramels (sprinkle on the top for a crunchy surprise) * Whole in-pod edamame beans (it is ok to use frozen that have been defrosted in the microwave) * Grilled beef tenderloin * Salad of raw Napa cabbage, lightly toasted rye seeds, and champagne vinegar * Lightly grilled watermelon (this preparation concentrates the sweet flavor and dries the outside slightly, which elevates the crunch of the Fleur de Sel) * Atop a classic Arborio risotto * Mixed with panko breadcrumbs as a breading for chicken * Micro-greens from pea, fennel or radish shoots * Panned fried fresh-water fish filets, like bass or perch (add a sprinkle right before serving) . . . . . .

Everybody loves this blend and some of the popular uses are on to sprinkle it on hamburger meat, add it to popcorn (Mmmm!) or simply put some on a plate with olive oil and dip your bread. Our feature salt today is Citrus Basil! 🍋🌿As a base for this exquisite meritage of citrus and basil, we picked an equally beautiful pair of salts with crisp fleur de sel and Murray River salt. The delicate salinity of these unrefined salts matches note-for-note with the flavors of citrus and basil to create an unbelievably versatile blend. This blend is particularly well suited for almost any seafood application, including on grilled salmon or mixed into crab cakes. Citrus Basil can also be used as a culinary-tool to tease out delicate flavors, such as the gentle and oft forgotten sour-notes found in late summer apples or the rich sweetness of a ripe avocado. Use to rim a margarita glass, or coat a slice of lime for a flavorful follow-up to a shot of premium resposada tequila.
